Joee

The groundwork for Joée's brilliant track record was laid at age 13, when he began performing in several Toronto-area bands. The breakthrough came in 1995 when Joee's remake of "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" hit Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. That song can be found on his debut album Just a Taste, released by Ti Amo Records.

The second album, Truth, earned Joée a Juno nomination and spun off two hit singles, "If I Could" and most recently "Do You Right". The video for the latter was added immediately into heavy rotation at MuchMusic and settled into the Top 10 on Much's Top 30 Countdown. At radio, "If I Could" has not only found saturation on dance-driven CHR airwaves but Adult Contemporary stations as well, reinforcing the notion that Joée is more than just another dance artist, more than just a pretty face, and without question, more than another in a long line of Ricky Martin-wannabes. Says the 25-year-old with typical self-effacement, "I've kind of been doing the whole Latin-flavored, rhythmic thing for a while, way before it was cool. Now people are ready for it, so it's hot and relevant".

Joée (a.k.a. Joey DeSimone) has been honing his writing, arranging, producing and performing skills for more than a decade now. Without any major label backing, his 1998 album Truth, sold almost 25,000 copies. Collectively, his singles have sold almost 20,000 copies.  Joée was also on the road with 98°, playing to standing-room-only audiences and sold-out venues across Canada.

In 2003 the CD/DVD "Decade Of Dance"  featuring all of Joee's hits and new releases was released courtesy of Music Network and SPG Music Canada.
